冷泉為頼〈れいぜいためより・1592-1627〉は、為満〈ためみつ・1559-1619〉の長男。為満のあとを受けて、上冷泉（かみれいぜい）家第７代として家学を継承した。寛永４年〈1627〉36歳で従三位・非参議に任じたが、同年４月に若くして没した。彼の書は、父為満と同じく、遠祖藤原定家〈ふじわらのさだいえ・1162-1241〉の書風を受け継いだ定家流である。みられるように、筆線の細大を強調する定家流の特色に加えて、うねるような運筆を強調し、個性的な筆致となっている。歌題は別筆。
