中村久越〈なかむらきゅうえつ・生没年未詳〉は、京都の人。名は直記（ただのり）、はじめ久六（きゅうろく）といった。号は卓斎（たくさい）。詳しい伝記は不明だが、山城の男山八幡宮に住し、そこで松花堂昭乗〈しょうかどうしょうじょう・1584-1639〉について書を学び、松花堂流（滝本流）の名手の一人として活躍したようだ。松花堂の高弟で、書法の印可（免許）を受けたと伝える本もある。「書ヲ以テ大府（幕府）ニ召レ禄ヲ給フ」、あるいは、「書ヲ以テ加州侯（加賀前田家）ニ仕フ」との記録もあり、当時、なかなかの能書で聞こえたことが想像される。この短冊の詠歌は、『新後拾遺和歌集』に所収される寂蓮法師の歌。これに久越は自署を加えており、珍しい遺例である。
