邦高親王〈くにたかしんのう・1456-1532〉は、伏見宮家の第５代。貞常親王〈さだつねしんのう・1425-74〉の第一皇子。初名は邦康（くにやす）。文明６年〈1474〉19才で後土御門天皇〈ごつちみかどてんのう・1442-1500〉の猶子となり邦高と改名、親王宣下を受け、伏見宮家の当主となった。琵琶・和歌に堪能で、ことに和歌は『御集百首』などを残す。三条西実隆〈さんじょうにしさねたか・1455-1537〉と親しく交わり、長享元年〈1487〉には飯尾宗祇〈いいおそうぎ・1421-1502〉の『伊勢物語』の講義を受けるなど、好学の親王として知られる。永正13年〈1516〉出家して法名を恵空（えくう）と称した。邦高親王は能書としても名高く、その書は伏見宮邦高流として後世に多くの追随者を生んだ。この短冊はいずれも「邦高」の署名であり、19歳から59歳の間の筆と知る。穂先の利いた軽やかな筆運びで、能書の面目躍如たる筆致である。
