和久半左衛門〈わくはんざえもん・1578-1638〉は、大坂の人。又兵衛宗是〈そうぜ・1535-1615〉の二男。名は俊英（としひで）、字（あざな）は宗友（そうゆう）。出雲（いずも）と称し、是安（ぜあん）とも号した。幼少より書を能くし、近衛信尹〈このえのぶただ・1565-1614〉に入門して三藐院流（さんみゃくいんりゅう＝近衛流）を学んだ。豊臣秀頼〈とよとみひでより・1593-1615〉の右筆をつとめ、豊臣滅亡後は仙台の伊達政宗〈だてまさむね・1567-1636〉に仕えて家臣の書法教授にあたった。その書はいかにも信尹の影響が顕著に認められ、奔放闊達な筆さばきに、並々ならぬ力量のほどがうかがえる。三藐院流屈指の書き手といえよう。これは、『続古今和歌集』所収の、後嵯峨院の詠歌。半左衛門の自詠歌ではないゆえに、署名を欠いている。
