烏丸光賢〈からすまるみつかた・1600-38〉は、寛永の三筆の一人・烏丸光広〈みつひろ・1579-1638〉の子。父同様、順調な官途をあゆみ、寛永８年〈1631〉32歳で正三位・権中納言に至る。しかしその後は健康がすぐれず、同15年〈1638〉９月９日、39歳の若さで没した。この短冊は、藍と紫の雲紙に、金泥で草木に鷺をあしらった下絵の装飾料紙を用いる。父光広の影響のままに、字形にとらわれない闊達な筆致で書写している。
