冷泉為則〈れいぜいためのり・1777-1848〉は、冷泉為村〈れいぜいためむら・1712-74〉の曾孫で、為章〈ためふみ・1752-1822〉の子。正二位・権大納言に至り、民部卿を兼ねた。その書は父為章にならい、定家流を能くした。この短冊は、布目打ちを施した料紙に、茶色で州浜型（すはまがた）の文様、中央には黒で三層の霞が表現された珍しいもの。誇張された定家流の書と料紙装飾とがうまく調和した作品といえる。
