阿野実顕〈あのさねあき・1581-1645〉は、大和内山上乗院（うちやまじょうじょういん）の住持・休庵（きゅうあん）の子。代々家職の神楽（かぐら）を伝える阿野家が中絶しないよう、還俗して祖父・従四位下阿野季時（すえとき）の子として家を継いだ。初名は実政（さねまさ）、のち実治（さねはる）、さらに11歳の時に実顕と改名した。５歳で叙爵。権中納言を経て、権大納言を極めた（52歳）。正保２年〈1645〉11月８日、65歳で没す。その書は、当時の公卿一般が習った中院（なかのいん）流から、しだいに、強い個性で町衆に広い人気を得た、本阿弥光悦〈ほんあみこうえつ・1558-1637〉の光悦流に転じた。公卿仲間の烏丸光広〈からすまるみつひろ・1579-1638〉らとともに同流の名手として謳われる。この、連歌の発句短冊にも、光悦流の影響が色濃く投影されている。
