松永久秀〈まつながひさひで・1510-77〉は、戦国時代の武将。出自や前半生についての詳細は不明。三好長慶（みよしながよし）に仕え、右筆もつとめた。が、永禄６年〈1563〉長慶の子義興（よしおき）が没すると（久秀が毒殺したとも伝えられる）、落胆した長慶も翌年病死、その後は幼き後嗣義継に代わって久秀が専横を極める。さらに、三好三人衆（三好長逸・三好政康・石成友通）とともに第13代将軍足利義輝を襲い、死に至らしめた。やがては天正５年〈1577〉織田信長に叛旗を翻し、信貴山（しぎさん）城にたてこもって自害し果てた。久秀は茶の湯を武野紹鷗（たけのじょうおう）に学んだ数寄者でもあり、数々の名物茶道具を所持した風雅な一面も知られる。藍の雲紙に、金銀泥で草花が大振りに描かれた料紙に、堂々かつ闊達な筆跡を残している。
