is a segment of the dedicatory sutra copy undertaken by Priest Gyoshin(years of birth and death unknown), who was known to have worked on the erection of To-In (the East Tower, or \u201cDreams Hall\u201d) of Horyuji Temple in Nara. This segment was originally a part of the 2700 scrolls of the Buddhist scriptures Gyoshin copied to show his four-fold gratitude, in other words, as a sign of respect for the three Buddhist treasures, the sovereign, one\u2019s parents and all creatures and, also, as a prayer for the salvation of all people as well as all living creatures on Earth. Gyoshin died before the manuscripts were completed, so the task was continued by his disciples, led by the head disciple, Priest Konin, who was said to have completed the task on September 5th, 767.
